Coverage for acupuncture varies depending on your insurance provider and plan. We recommend checking with your insurance company to determine your benefits. Mindful Holistic Health does not currently bill insurance directly. If applicable, we are happy to provide documentation for reimbursement.

To prepare for your treatment, eat a light meal or snack beforehand, wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing, and stay well hydrated. Please try to arrive a few minutes early to allow time to relax before your session.

Yes. When performed by a trained and licensed practitioner, acupuncture is considered very safe. Only sterile, single-use needles are used, and treatments are carefully tailored to each individual. It is important to disclose any medical conditions or medications you are taking to your practitioner before beginning treatment.

Acupuncture is often very different from what people expect. It’s typically much gentler than the idea of “needles” suggests. Most people experience little to no discomfort during acupuncture. The needles used are extremely thin – much finer than those used for injections. Once the needle is in place, the sensation may feel dull, achy, or heavy, followed by a sense of relaxation or a feeling of gentle movement within the body.

Many people leave feeling calm, relaxed, and refreshed. Others may notice improved energy, better sleep, or gradual relief of symptoms over the following days as the body continues to rebalance.

Most patients describe it as subtle, calming, and sometimes even deeply relaxing. You may feel a quick, light sensation, like a tiny pinch, as the needle is inserted. Some areas of the body can feel more “pinchy” than others, like the ears, wrists and ankles. I’ve been seeing Megan for years. She is an amazing acupuncturist! Megan takes time to get to know you. She really listens during each appointment, you can tell she cares deeply about helping you with whatever ailment or issue you are experiencing. I had a terrible case of plantar fasciitis. After a few sessions with Megan, the pain left completely. And has not returned. I have seen Megan for various reasons, and always leave feeling better than when I walked in.

Megan is a genius! I first came to her to treat chronic (8 years!) pain in my shoulder. I had tried another accupuncturist and didn't even get temporary results.
She also addressed my irregular digestion and fitfull sleep. She does cupping, which gets me so relaxed that the actual needle insertion is completely tolerable.
My shoulder pain cleared up about a year ago, and she also helped me get over some long-Covid breathing difficulty after I got sick last year. I started experiencing tendonitis on my right foot, and she took care of that too.
